About Young Family reunion
Please sign in to see more.
Based on the forward from the published genealogy in 1987

The genealogy of the Young (Jung) family which follows, has been gathered from many sources. The names and birth dates of the descendants who lived in the Eighteenth Century have come mostly from the records of Springfield and Nockamixon churches in Bucks County, PA.

The prime document related to this record is the baptismal certificate of John Young, Jr. a translation of which is given below.

"To the family (or married couple) of John Young and his wife Maria nee Gebhart, was born a son on the twelfth day of March, in the year of our Lord, 1785. This son was born in Springfield Township, Bucks County, the state of Pennsylvania in North America; was baptized and received the name of John on the twelfth day of April in the year of our Lord, 1785, by Reverend Caspar Wach.

Witnesses: John Popp and his wife Catherine"

The records herein are still incomplete, in spite of hours spent reading, visiting, following up false leads, sifting conflicting records and finally fitting together those items which can be confirmed or accepted without doubt.

This third edition is an update of the two previous editions, complied by Charles and Marvin Young. The information for the first edition was gathered by Mr. & Mrs. Charles Dietz, to whom we are indebted for their incentive and diligence. The updating information came largely from family members attending the Annual Young Reunions. Thanks be to them for their continued interest.
